Goodbye

 Hi guys

Some of you already know that Donna and I are moving to Portland on the 11th April.

It is with great sadness that i am leaving SWAMPS after about 17 years flying at this great little club and having made lasting friendships.

But we are also excited about our new life together in Portland.

We will be over a few times a year so i will be bringing something to fly.

We will probably be joining Hamilton club or maybe Warrnambool.

So i wish SWAMPS all the best.

Christmas barby

Hey guys 

On Sunday 10th December we will be having our Christmas barbecue 

AGM/GM

Our AGM/GM was held at the field on Sunday 1st October 

Six members were in attendance and one visitor 

It was voted that the current committee stayed the same as last year 

We had a great barbecue feast before the meeting 

Nobody flew due to the strong winds

 On a trip to Margaret River last week Donna and I drove an hour north on Sunday to a club called SWARMS just out of a small town called Capel. 

We spent a couple of hours talking to some of the members there.

They fly a mixture of nitro, electric, petrol  and jets.

Concrete runways and taxiways join up to a concrete pits which is fully roofed.

One of the members highly recommended to me ZEEE lipo batteries purchased from EBay.

It is also a state field sponsored by WA lottery and Bendigo Bank.

Christmas

Hey guys your probably wondering about the Christmas barbecue 

With the late Annual and General meeting Christmas has come up quick so it was decided  that we will have a barbecue in the new year.

So have a great Christmas and a safe new year and we will see you next year. 

AGM/GM/Xmas barbecue

Attended by half the members the Christmas barbecue went down well followed by our AGM and GM which I think was done in record time!

The committee members remains unchanged for this year. 

Most put in some good air time and all had a good catch up after the long lockdown.

Hey guys I know it's been a while ( damn covid ).

On Sunday 5th December we will be having our Annual General and General meeting as well as our Christmas barbecue. Hoping the weather will be good to get some long awaited flying done.

Pattern comp

Hey guys on Saturday 20th March there will be a pattern competition at our field. So there will be no general flying that day. If you haven't seen this before go along and have a look, these models are worth quite a lot of $.

A few of us took advantage of the great weather. The usual guys came out, Mike, Rob, Fred, Peter, new member Graham and former member Ben. Graham had a maiden of his scratch built Hustler with great success.

 Our AGM/GM and Christmas barbecue was attended by 7 members and one associate, we welcomed new members Reg and Bill. There was plenty to eat, no flying was done due to the bad weather but that didn’t stop the social side of things. Thanks to Chris for sourcing 2 huge batteries for our charging table, the solar panel is happy now that it has new batteries to talk to 😀. All we need now is for the weather to improve for us to catch up on lost flying time.

AGM/GM. XMAS BBQ

Hey guys now that lockdown and travel restrictions are over we will be having our AGM/GM combined with our Christmas barbecue on Sunday 6th December .

So come and catch up with everyone, have a fly, get some official business out of the way and have a feed.

We’re back

Well after many many months of lockdown we were able to go back to the field. Good turn out and a great day for it. Still wet in spots from the large amount of rain, but there is enough of the field to fly off. 

Hopefully after this Sunday for those of us that live outside the 25 kilometre radius will be able to join us.

Check those batteries.
